Whew, I've been so busy this summer...

I'm just out reading and saying hello this evening.

I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say about my last series of posts.

I really enjoyed reading this post. During a garbage strike is a wonderful time to promote Green living. What better lesson and wake up call than heaps of garbage sitting around screaming "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Find better ways!" Wouldn't it be wonderful to see environmental groups that this opportunity to promote this better behavior.

I am happy to hear you have gotten the message so easily and early on in the strike. Way to go, keep up the great work.

As Scattered Mom said in her comment, stores here also sell cloth bags for about $.99. I love this and have several.

Where we are, many grocery stores have started selling cloth bags to pack your groceries in.

It's a great idea and really cuts down on the plastic...Extra Foods has some really cheap ones at $.99 each.

Last night I finally watched "An Inconvenient Truth." If you have not watched the film I suggest you do so A.S.A.P.!

It is a wake up call and a half.

I recycle all my plastic even the wrappers and put them in the plastic recycling. In Japan I learned to even rinse off dirty plastic. I wash everything that is recyclable so it doesnt stink.
I japan, after they started a plastic recycling day that included everything to wrappers, our garbage pile was cut to less than half.

At the outset it seems that cloth Diapers are expensive until you figure out what you are spending a month on disposables. I used the dri-line snap to fit and I am now using the Snug-to-fit. I would recommend the disposable liners to make it easier for clean up of bowel movements though and we still use disposable diapers for night time. Try the Discount Diapers. They will help you. :)
