Has Vancouver Changed?

This am brought us up to 20 killings this year in Vancouver and the third and forth shooting in less than a week.
While I have no problem with thugs killing thugs…specially thugs living in nice mansions in Shaughnessy or driving fancy cars…I feel and worry for the innocent people caught in the crossfire.
Gang violence is nothing new to Vancouver. It seems to come and go. Or does it? Do you feel that things are worse now than they were before? Is Vancouver less safe than it was?
Lots HAS changed about this city. That is a given.
What is obvious is that violence and danger have no borders. There is no good or bad parts of town anymore. Crime is everywhere.

I’m and East Van Brat, and I think HELL YES Vancouver has changed.
When we were kids we bussed it downtown, stood outside Funky Winkerbeans, and our mom would come out. Then we would go to Woodwards shopping and after she’d give us money to go home. We wandered down there with no fear.
We stayed out late at the parks. Walked blocks to the store. The West side was considered inhabited by rich panisies who would be too scared to come to our side.
You are right. Now it is everytwhere.
