i’m a valley girl through and through

hubby and I headed downtown last night for a concert. didn’t really have a place in mind for dinner so we aimlessly wandered around Vancouver. I haven’t been downtown in absolute eons and now I remember why. I hate the skinny road lanes. i hate the one-way streets(and why were all the ones that we could drive down closed for construction? heehee) I hate the lack of parking and than when you find some, it costs as much as your dinner entree and you have to walk 4 blocks through scary back lanes to get to said restaurant.
but than sitting there in English Bay and looking out over the water at sunset(and only in BC could you eat dinner on a restaurant balcony in March ) it made the earlier hassles seem insignificant.

  1. Yes it is lovely watching the sunset for the vantage point….but getting there can be a harrowing experience….sounds like you enjoyed yourself in the end! I never really liked venturing downtown either. I used to work downtown for years…it is a different place at night for the day.

  2. I know….summer on a patio looking over the ocean makes it all worthwhile…..

    It is truly beautiful…mostly.

  3. too true RN. hubby used to work downtown and i drove in to meet him about 3 times a week(Bentall 4 towers)but nighttime-eek!
