PNE 2007
Well, we managed a day at the fair. We weren’t sure, what with all the family strife, but we did. And it was worth it. Glorious weather and happy happy kids.
So yes, you blow a HUGE chunk of change to attend the fair…it’s not cheap. We didn’t even BUY stuff except for food and I think we must have spent over $200 just for attendance and rides.
We didn’t see too many of the shows as we just focused on what the kids wanted to do and they wanted to do rides. We did see the SuperDogs and that was fun. The kids enjoyed that. Adam also got a ride on a Monster Truck which was HIS thrill for the day.
I notice every year that there is less and less livestock on display. And that is shame as that USED to be the whole point of the fair. Not to mention that it is Caity’s fave part too.
We strolled through the show mart, but it is like being surrounded by a giant infomercial.
But it is all about the rides for our kids. Despite the baking heat. My mom and I kept running for any shady spot every time they were on a ride.
We had a great day. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood. Strangers were striking up conversations with us left right and centre. Made you feel part of a community again. And with the backdrop of the amazing mountains…what a great Vancouver event.

I haven’t been in years as I think you definitely need kids along to enjoy it. Too bad about the animals, I always loved them too.

It looks like a good time was had by all.
I’ve been spending a lot of time rediscovering the joys of local activities lately.
I think we overlook the goodness in our home communities these days.
We’ve forgotten how good home really is…
