Let us Discuss Shopping….
As the sun warms our pallid and soggy limbs…thoughts of NEW OUTFITS and NEW SHOES start to flit into our rain addled minds.
Where do you like to shop?
Being a more ..em…’roomy’ gal, I buy a lot of stuff at AE, which is the casual/trendy side of Addition Elle. They at least get that just because you are bigger than a size 14 does NOT mean that you don’t like fashion and to look sexy.
I also picked up a couple of nice capri pants at Cotton Ginny.
SOMETIMES I can find some decent stuff at the Gap and I usually stock up on t-shirts at Old Navy.
Shoes this year have been interesting. I have found cool sandals in the weirdest places. I bought a lovely pair of fuschia coloured leather slip on sandals at Marks Work Wearhouse of all places! They are really pretty. I also found a great pair of waterproof slip on’s in a bright orange, which I thought was fun! I also picked up a nice pair of canvas wedges at Reitmans!

So yes, no where terribly exciting. I used to love to explore Main St. for anything interesting or South Granville, but now when pressed for time and usually towing the kids around - the mall is it.
What have been your cool finds so far?
Any good bags…I need a good bag!

oh indeed the nice weather makes me want to shop. dang ! i don’t have any money yet to do so… but it will happen.
i am a thrifty shopper. i can’t bring myself to spend gobs of money on clothing that to me isn’t worth it. i too love places like the Gap and Old Navy for the deals. anything that is two for one in the tee/top department rocks my world. i got some super cheap jeans and a cute little top the other day at (gasp) Walmart. but you know, it works. the only time i will spend a lot on clothing is if it is something special or fancy for an occasion. i am a jeans/shorts and teeshirt and sneakers kind of woman.

I am also a,um,”roomy” mama. I like Gordman’s, and the dept. that works for me is the Junior Plus Sizes. I wear their smallest sizes (16-18), but the clothes are cuter than the women’s dept. Even though I’m 46, it works for me!

I love winners for a quick decent find.
But I also love discovering local designer stuff for a real unique treat. My blog has a plethora of cool shopping stuff… eye candy, really. Portobello Market is fun, as is Commercial Drive.
Victoria is inundated with awesome shops…
But, if cheap is the word… thrift is good (think Sally Ann and VV Boutique), Old Navy, and Army & Navy (LOVE that store!!)

Well I must admit I don’t clothes shop that much anymore for me….tend to wear a lot of yoga gear or sweat pants…..working in the back fourty or running errands it’s comfy clothes in my smalltown. But my last shop was at Jacob’s got a great pair of capri’s…oh and believe it or not….BC Ferries….they get some great clothes in the gift shop…bought an awesome orange T-shirt. When I am on the mainland and with my girls…well that is another story….they take after the old me…shop till you drop….they like all the higher end stuff….shopped at Bebe and got a really cool pair of casual brown hipster sweat pants with pink piping on the side and matching Bebe tank top with Bebe rhinestones on the front….kinda of fun…..but way to expensive for me…but a treat just the same. I use to shoe shop all the time, had a bit of a shoe fetish…but don’t have need for a variety of shoes now days….runners, rubber boats, thongs are my mainstay…some fancy sandals…..have a whole whack of shoes collecting dust in the closet, guess I should pay sally anne a visit one of these days…..
