I don’t know if people will agree with me, but Vancouverites can be a pretty mellow crowd. I have sometimes been shocked at the lack of enthusiasm at some of the shows I have attended…no matter HOW stellar the actual performance actually is.
But they did great this time.
Mom and I attended The Police’s last night in Vancouver and the crowd was great.
Everyone did a great job in cheering on the opening act….led by Sting junior…who were actually a great band and a lot of fun.
Sting could have just played guitar for the majority of it…the crowd new ALL the words and would leap in as soon as they recognized the first bars of (fill in that hit here).
It was a long show. They sure worked hard for old bufty’s! Andy Summer is 64 apparently!
My mom and I were in hysterics watching Stewart Copeland….his unbridled enthusiasm was really engaging. And he is an amazing drummer and percussionist.
So it was worth the $8 beer. And we couldn’t have asked for a better night. It was warm and clear….lovely.
What I also liked was with being an older crowd..there were no rowdies and everyone flowed out and onto the Skytrain in an orderly and polite fashion.
It was a great night. Worth the high priced tickets. The band were in fine form and obviously enjoying themselves.
Thanks MOM!

Weren’t they great? I think I need to get into yoga, so I can still rock it in my 50s and 60s. Copeland looked so excited to be there - what a joy to see!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I totally agree with you about Vancouver audiences. I sometimes wonder if this is because there are no free concerts here. People don’t get to practice dancing and fun in a concert setting with out shelling out major money.
I am glad they were cool with the Police.
OMG that is awesome!!!!!
