Site Stuff

As you have noticed, our member directory has grown considerably…which is awesome.
So….first does anyone know an easy way to either turn it into one of those little scrolling thingies?? Or how to make a new page for it?
Also…..Feedback…what sort of things would you like to see for the site? ? Do you guys want it to be more sophisticated, with things like profile pages for you?
Do you envision a different format?? Even something like Mayasmom?
Let me know. ? I am more than happy to investigate options and ideas.

I’m not going to comment on the techie stuff but I did pop over to Mayasmom and got a headache looking at it.
I came late to the party but I like the format. I’m old so I don’t have any interest in sharing mothering tales but I do like it when someone like Claudia posta a lovely picture of her young one, or someone tells a funny story about her child. So far I found the site quite interesting and I’ve started to read some blogs on the sidebar, even added some to my blogroll.
At first I thought you had to write something especially for the site but it doesn’t seem to matter if you post something from your blog to here. Or does it Crunchy?

I’m a big fan of the way Maya’s Mom is set up. It would be great to have profile pages or some sort of login. I looked all over that site today to see if I could find out what software or package they’re utilizing. I think they are able to provide the site free to members because they run Google ads which are quite profitable for a large site. Also, what about a form to fill out to send in posts we’d like to see on the site? See, I’m here a day and already I’m being bossy…you must be sooooo glad you invited me!

Lol…JMB..I wouldn’t want to make things crazy here I like simplicity..we have a good thing going and no, links or copies of stuff from your own blogs is cool with me!

Yeah..I would kind of like to see a member log in and some sort of profile thing set up maybe…and maybe a forum kind of thing too!
Not knocking Shaz’s fab design here at all…she did an amazing job and I am just dreaming for the ‘big time!’

I think that a contributor’s profile page would be a good idea.
I also think that a section under parenting for special needs would be a great idea. It would help people here in BC network and get ideas/support.

I love the KISS system…..and I don’t like a lot of busy stuff either…I want an attractive header which you have provided…I would love to see contributor profiles or something like a “who’s new” to the site…I also like Scattered Moms suggestion about including something for special needs..and that could be anything…if someone can show you how to compress the log roll that would save you space.
I love what you are doing here…it’s work perfect for me….I am not a techy…but I am certainly interested in hearing what others have to say….
