Pretty Sparklies

Vancouver has a lot of nice jewelery stores, from family run boutique businesses to Canadian classics like Birks.

I feel that Birks deserves a nod. We have a Tiffany store here now, and I recall everyone being quite excited about it.  But Birks is a Canadian company going back 126 years in the jewelery trade.

Their Hastings and Granville store is worth visiting just for the architecture alone.  I believe it was a bank first.  It is gorgeous.

Crunchy Husband and I have a soft spot for Birks, and he tends to buy me the majority of the ‘big’ gifts there.

So being that we were downtown….a rare occurrence these days, we decided to pop in.  We were met by a charming salesman who seemed to enjoy bedecking me in diamonds and so on.  Sigh.

We took a look at a couple of collections that we (me?) are fond of and have some pieces!  And also enjoyed looking at the gorgeous diamond solitaires.

Always planning on the future when we are super rich!  Oh and did I mention this year we will be married ten years!!??  That deserves a nice anniversary gift does it not!!! Hee

Anyway. It is a super store for jewelery and so on.  The quality is great, as well as the service.

They do the odd the customer service nights with HUGE(ish) discounts offered on most of their stock, as well as good credit plans.

I am a firm believer that you don’t need a man to buy you pretty things. (though I ain’t complaining!)  If you like something….AND you can afford it…..treat yourself!

Oh and we didn’t buy anything today…just looked and planned for the future!
