Jurassic Vancouver
Yep. We went. I paid a crazy ass amount of money so we could see the LIVE EXPERIENCE of ‘Walking with the Dinosaurs’ at GM Place.
This is an Australian creation inspired by the BBC show of same name. My boy LOVES this show. We have the sequel ‘Prehistoric Park’ on DVD…he watches it all the time. The boy is Dino mad.
This show is for parents of dino crazy kids.
We had watched ‘Jurassic Park’ last night as a refresher.

Adam couldn’t stand the wait or the climatic pauses…”is
the show over already mom!?’
Caity was worried about the carnivores..or ‘bad dinosaurs’
The effects ARE amazing. The detail on these things is amazing. As is the technology to bring them to life. You really did not think about the people in the smaller dino’s, or the contraptions built under the legs.
The host Paleontologist is a bit cheesy…but again, great for kids and gives a nice easy run down on the era’s and names of the dinosaurs we are meeting.
The lighting is gorgeous and they are clever with the blow up plants and what not.
So yes, $60 a person was a lot for decent seats…but worth it for my kids. Adam was in awe….cynical awe as he ‘knew they were just robots.’
Caity was a bit more worried about it all. They are very very loud and one ‘bad’ dino eats a baby one out of it’s egg. This has scarred her for life.
We were lucky in that the merchandise was not very good…poor quality…and so we could convince the kids that it wasn’t worth the money.
Phew.
Beats the Monster Truck Jam that was next door at BC Place anyway!
