Here Comes the Rain Again
Well, for most of the West Coast…I don’t know how they are doing down in LA or San Diego just now!
HERE in Vancouver, the fall is here with the rain and once again I am annoyed.
Where are the rain jackets for the kids and really for me?
No…not snow jackets, not puffy jackets, not giant quilted coats. No snow pants please. I just want a slicker type thing.. a waterproof rain jacket for the kids and myself.
Zellers, Please Mom, Childrens Place, Gymboree are packed with snow and deep cold gear.
For what..the four days of snow we get?
Fine for you skiiers….but for going to school?
It is raining. It will rain here for the next six months!!!
Sport Check and Coast Mountain had nothing. A couple of one’s that didn’t fit my obviously HUGE girth.
And only snow jackets for the kids.
What I am thinking is that for these chain stores..the buyers are all back east. Where they GET cold weather.
I have noticed too that a majority of coats for adults that are NON ski jackets are not water proof….but warm…perfect for say..Toronto. But not here.
I want a rain coat.
I don’t want one in spring. I want one now.
I want a slicker type thing for my kids too.
Anyone?????

Depending on how big your kids are, sometimes places like Mark’s Work Wearhouse have great waterproof/rain jackets. If not for them, there would be some for you.

I tend to go to MEC for rain gear. I just got a good rain suit for Aidan. It wouldn’t be big enough for your son but they do have rain pants and jackets. I am sure one would fit your daughter though.
I know exactly what you mean though. The first time I went shopping for rain boots for Aidan I had a very hard time finding them.

I don’t know if Taiga has children’s things but you should do OK there. Not cheap but then not as expensive as Coast Mountain.

Mountain Equipment Coop. Got a great rain jacket there 2 years ago…bit pricey but I’m still wearing it and it’s still waterproof.
& gum boots from the army surplus.
you could try army & navy too …
