Sun Shiney Days at White Rock

So fitting with our new look and photo…thanks Phatmommy!

I hope everyone likes it…I had asked Shannon to help me upgrade the Word Press and then she was in diving around the back end and noticing how MESSY it was and basically offered to clean house for me…phew..hopefully thing will be smoother.

And for all you people that like photos….the uploader above does work…Press the little star up above - Add Media - and then make sure you press ‘Browser Loader’ for uploading photos from your own computer.

So post away….lets hear from all over the coast ‘kay!?

It was and is still sunny and hot in Vancouver, so we packed up the kids and headed out to White Rock..the East Beach, I believe…by Semiahmoo Park. You can get $5 dollar all day parking and just have to humph your stuff across the train tracks down to MILES OF SAND.

Being that it was BC Day, I was figuring on heavy traffic on the freeway, at least for the drive home..but nope. Took us about 25 minutes from East Van, there and back.

The one thing we noticed that is new…was MASSES AND MASSES of Hermit crabs. I do not recall seeing them the last time.

They were hiding in the many tidal pools and apparently there was a CITY of them residing in an old truck tire..the kids were overjoyed.

The kids castle became a repository for their collection. We did take em all to the pool afterwards..tide was coming in anyway…but I didn’t want any crab blood on my hands!

So apart from the adults getting too burned…it was a great way to spend a day.

I love White Rock.

  1. It looks great Crunchy. I love the header photo. I’m a bit confused about sign in above. I had a different password for here from my own wordpress blog (my backup blog). Which one will it recognize? This one I hope or can we still get in the old way?

  2. I love White Rock too. My family live out there. I have so many memories of Sandcastle Contests and roaming the pier. It is very quick to get there. I go out to Crescent Beach area a lot. I am so glad you had a great time.
