why website design (graphics, backend, etc) is so freaking expensive?

I don’t get it.

I really don’t.  Apart from man hours of actually doing the work, I really don’t see why the programming etc is so pricey, etc that it will continue to be pricey while people are willing to shell out vast quantities.

Ideas?

    as someone who just spent 60 hours last week finishing one up, i know. it is amazingly time consuming
