Unique Lives…..

Oh I am so upset.

Crunchy Husband bought tickets in January for my mom too see Sigourney Weaver as part of the Unique Lives and Experiences Tour.

I was pretty stoked.  I figured we would be there in our blue jumpsuits screaming ‘GETAWAYFROMHERYOUBITCH!’ really loudly and pumping our fists!   Isn’t that how you act at a talk at the Orpheum Theatre?  No?  Hmmmm.

SOMETHING made me check the website this afternoon.  And a good thing I did. For it turns out that there had been a change of plans and Sigourney was not to appear….Geena Davis was to appear in her stead.

I called Ticketmaster to confirm….and sure enough.  Signourney was no longer on the venue.

No announcements.  No calls.  NOTHING on the website for Ticketmaster OR Unique Lives specifically stating that Sigourney was not going to show.

Can you say pissed?

No offence to Ms. Davis.  She is a fine actress and all….but we did not expect to see her.  I cannot imagine what it would have been like to have shown up this evening all geared up for an evening with Ms. Weaver to all of a sudden notice Ms. Davis’s name all over the place.

We were very disappointed and instead hit the mall to go and refund the tickets.

And boo on Ms. Weaver for having something better to do.

  1. [...] We had to take care of a couple of errands at the mall – one being getting a refund from ticketmaster – and two being Crunchy Husband paying his speeding ticket (snicker). [...]

I’d be bummed, too. Geena just doesn’t seem as interesting as Sigourney. Good thing you checked the site!

I actually had tickets to see Sigourney at the Orpheum as well. I had never been to anything like that before at all.
I went to see Geena Davis because I already had the ticket.

I must say, Geena Davis is an incredibly interesting and funny lady. She is incredibly smart and is a wonderfully entertaining speaker.
Not Sigourney no, but worth the ticket none the less.
