The Royal Winnipeg Ballet are presenting their interpretation of the Lewis Carol tale ‘Alice in Wonderland.’

Vancouver will get to enjoy this spectacle at The Centre for Performing Arts, from March 24th to the 27th.

Wonderland is a dynamic re-interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s beloved characters, events and themes that is sure to surprise and delight. The Queen of Hearts, The White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter are all on hand, displaying generous doses of wit, camp and humour. The surreal and dark elements that lurk at the original story’s fringes are bravely realized in explosive passages of breathtaking dance and innovative multimedia. Shawn Hounsell, acclaimed choreographer and RWB alumnus, has transformed Wonderland into a multi-sensory experience, with edgy and athletic movement, an inventive electro-acoustic soundscape and unexpected visual treats.

Following the huge success of 2009’s Moulin Rouge: The Ballet, the RWB is certain to delight audiences by engaging intellects of all ages with its fantastical tale combined with the beautiful artistry of the RWB dancers. All the familiar characters from this childhood favorite will be there, including the Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter and of course, Alice herself – dancing like you’ve never seen them before.

That is very cool! I have never been to see a live show like this. Maybe one day I can go without the kids and enjoy a night out with hubby.
